It's the Queen's Birthday Long Weekend, woo hoo!! Thanks, Lizzie. 
I am over my cold and have almost completed my reports, just one more to go.
Last night I went out to dinner, in the freezing rain and wind. My friends and I ended up in Brighton, at the beach and it was cold!!
I have an Alpha Panini sandwich which was delicious. Grilled chicken, grilled haloumi cheese, lettuce, tomato and avocado. It was delicious. 
While trawling through the Internet today, I found out that the Alpha Panini is the same as a Po' Boy sandwich I had in New Orleans....LOL.

I also had the Chocolate Martini for dessert. YUM.

Today my sister coloured my hair. She is my own personal hair stylist and she is fabulous. I put the usual red streaks over my boring brown and it looks GOOD. We have school photos on Tuesday so I have to make an effort to look nice.
And the young man is the man in my life, my nephew Alexander, who was a litle afraid of the brightness of my hair. LOL

Teaching the minions is fun, but at this time of year there is one serious drawback....they don't know how to blow their noses or cover their mouths when they cough.  As a result, I have a cold, and my bones hurt, and my voice is going and my boss said "go home, sick girl, we don't want your germs here" so now I have a sickie! I get to stay away from work all day tomorrow!
How dare I take a sickie when I am sick! That is not the Aussie way....you take a sickie when you are well, so you can do the things you didn't get to do on the weekend....like shop!
Anyway......I have completed reports #10 and 11 and I have 9 to do by Friday. If I really focus tomorrow, it's possible that I will have them all done.
Well, we live in hope.

I spent Sunday shopping in the city, around the beautiful Queen Victoria Building. I got some books at Galaxy (the best bookstore in the universe) and I had the Big Breakfast across the road at Jet Cafe. I walked around and ended up buying a Onitsuka Tiger bag. Very cool.
Their shoes are fabulous too.

It's midnight, Saturday night, or should that be Sunday? Just come back from dinner with friends, down at brighton Beach. The weather was chilly, so it was good to rug up and have some hot fattening food....cause I so need to bulk up for the cold winter months!LOL.
On the menu:
Herb Bread
Fettucine Boscaiola
Blueberry Creme Brulee
Hot Chocolate

So stuffed now. Can't go to bed on a full stomach. I think I will trawl through the Boards and see what's doin'. All the Americans should be awake now.

Today was Pyjama Day at school, and all the kindies came dressed in their pyjamas, and brought along their favourite night-time toy. This was so much fun! I had the shades down and the lights off all day, and we had to use torches to see. The kindies absolutely loved it, as they giggled and laughed while doing their work in torch-light. We went on a Night-time Animal hunt, and found frogs, owls and possums hiding around our room. We read "There's A nightmare In My Closet" by mercer mayer and we pretended to drag the monsters under our tables out the door. 
Everyone had a great day. Next up, Pirate Day in two weeks time. 
Yo-ho, yo-ho a pirate's life for me.....

Today was cold. I had the heater on for the first time this year, and my little munchins came in sat around it. But in true Sydney weather style, the day grew warmer and by lunchtime they were stripping off their jumpers and running around in the grass.
Tomorrow is "Night" day at school, and we are wearing our pyjamas at school. This should be fun!

Tonight I went to see a play called "Morning Sacrifice', a play about teachers set in an Australian high school in 1938. It was very interesting. It seems some things have changed over the years and some things have scarily stayed the same.
The play was a sort of moral story about the standards versus individuality. What was more important - the reputation of a school or the nurturing of student individuality. There was so much uncertainty in the world at that time (not much has changed!) that "free thinking" was discouraged. 
There was a lot of humour in this play and I enjoyed it very much. The audience was made up of mostly retired teachers, so they all knew what was going on.  I think I was the youngest member in the audience...most of them looked like they had taught in 1938!! 
And it seems that back in 1938, if you were feeling poorly, a cup of tea and a headache powder would soon set you to rights, no matter what your problem was! They drank so much tea in the play that I couldn't bear to have one when I came home.

Finally made it into the technology age.....woo hoo.....a major achievement for someone who is still trying to figure out the mechanical pencil!
The truth is, I will probably post this, then forget I have a Live Journal, then forget my password and then have to actually go outside and speak to people in my Real Life!
